Rosa Parks Elementary School is located in the mid-city area of San Diego with an enrollment of over 1540 students in grades K-5.We are part of The City Heights Educational Pilot, begun in 1998. The Pilot is a unique partnership between San Diego State University,San Diego City School District, San Diego Education Association, Price Charities, and the community of City Heights.
As a community school, our partners in education, after school programs, health and social service providers, academic school-based activities and parent involvement opportunities are focused on providing a quality of education for all Rosa Parks students and their families.
Parents at Rosa Parks are involved with their children's education. Our parent volunteers have devoted more than 18,000 hours each year.
Volunteers assist with tutoring, class materials preparation, art projects, field trips, supervision, fund raising and seasonal craft projects. Parent programs include curriculum in-service training sessions in the areas of: Nutrition, Parenting Classes, Computer Training, Parent Institute, Ready to Read, and Health Education.
