Garden Plot Information

Plot of Land: 93’ by 22’

The first year project objectives and outcomes to develop the plot of land were to build a secure and sustainable infrastructure
to support on-going school - community gardening activities. Specifically, San Diego Women's Foundation grant funds in 2002 and 2003 supported:

  1. Costs associated with hiring Altas Fence Company to build the required chain link fencing and gates around the garden to secure the 93' by 22' plot of land for use by students and community members.

  2. Expense associated with the purchase of an aluminum cargo container (40 x 8.5 x 8) to store supplies and materials adjacent to the garden plot.

  3. Costs associated with hiring Down to Earth Landscaping to construct 12 planting beds and the implementation of the irrigation system for the garden.

  4. Costs associated with planting soil, amendments and supplies for gardening.
